A buddha, but not "The Buddha!"
That jolly fat fellow so many Westerners think of as the Buddha is actually a Chinese monk, P'o-te Ha-sang.  Famous for his good-nature, he is sometimes called the "Chinese Santa" and is often depicted with a sack full of gifts.

There are a number of ways by which the "real" Buddha is to be recognized and one of these has to do with the fact that, far from having a belly, the "real" Buddha is quite trim!
